Job summary

The UC Human Factors & Ergonomics Program at UC San Francisco and UC Berkeley is seeking a Research Data Analyst under direct supervision to support data collection, processing, reduction and analysis, with willingness to travel for field data collection in diverse settings. The lab’s primary location is the Richmond Field Station in the East Bay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and one or more years or relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures.
• Working skills in analysis and consultation.
• Skills to communicate complex information clearly in writing and verbally.
• Time management to complete project parts on deadline.
• Proficiency with technology and relevant software and scientific equipment (e.g., Python).
• Master's degree is preferred for advanced knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Conducts statistical studies in support of research proposals and protocols.
• Maintains and develops research gathering, retrieval and reporting systems.
• Plans studies, including survey instrument design and sampling/reporting procedures.
• Collaborates on design, documentation, testing and implementation of research studies.
• Prepares reports or analyses for internal department constituents.
• May be involved in researching, evaluating and selecting new data reporting products.
• Assists in organizing data to analyze, identify and report trends.
• Gathers and analyzes research data; prepares and summarizes information and recommendations.
• Independently plans limited studies or assists higher level Analysts in large, complex studies.
• Other duties as assigned.
