Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh seeks a Contract Analyst to support the Office of the Vice President for Research. You will assist Contracts Officers with negotiations of NDAs, subcontracts, license agreements, and other agreements, and help document the negotiation lifecycle.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and about one year of contract experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work with faculty, staff, and external partners within an academic

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least one year of contract/agreements experience.
  • Experience drafting, editing, and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience in academia or research institutions preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Contracts Officers with negotiating various agreements including NDAs and subcontracts.
  • Support processing proposals, awards and subcontracts in the sponsor offices.
  • Draft, edit, and negotiate contract terms and documents.
  • Document and monitor the contract lifecycle and status in the contract management system.
  • Identify issues for approvals and facilitate internal compliance reviews.
  • Engage with stakeholders across departments to educate on contractual issues.
