Rowan University is seeking a Research Computing Support Specialist (PSS1) to support scientific computing hardware and software for the Enterprise System Administration team and the Center for Scientific Computing.

The role collaborates with faculty and researchers to architect equipment, configure HPC resources, and optimize security configurations, support documentation, and procurement processes for research labs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required or a bachelor’s degree with two years of related experience.
  • Experience with Linux-based HPC systems is required or highly preferred.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows desktop administration and networking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and researchers to architect and estimate computational equipment requirements.
  • Configure computing resources for teaching, research labs, and centralized High Performance Computing facilities.
  • Set up user access, compile and install scientific computing software, and deliver user training.
  • Enforce security configurations and standards across scientific computing equipment.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of dedicated research environments.
  • Maintain online documentation including Technical Design Documents and support procedures.

Rowan University is hiring a Research Computing Support Specialist (PSS1). This role supports scientific computing hardware and software for the Enterprise System Administration team and the Center for Scientific Computing, working closely with faculty and researchers to architect equipment and configure high performance computing resources. The specialist optimizes security configurations, maintains support documentation, and helps streamline the technology procurement process for research labs.
