The University of Chicago Research Computing Center (RCC) seeks a Computational Scientist & Research Computing Services Manager to support faculty, post-docs, and graduate students using AI, HPC, and data-intensive workflows. You will serve as a technical expert, engage with researchers, and help advance computational research across the University.

The role includes hiring and mentoring a team of student consultants, developing and maintaining software, documenting best practices, and

• Ph.D. preferred; strong background in computational science and research computing.
• Experience mentoring or managing students; ability to lead a team.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with faculty and research groups to identify, develop, and implement computational solutions advancing research.
• Troubleshoot, compile, debug, profile, optimize, and port scientific applications on AI/HPC systems.
• Contribute to RCC Consultant Partnership Program and faculty projects as assigned.
• Develop, install, test, and maintain scientific/community software for research projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge bases for quality support.
