Job summary

The University of Chicago Research Computing Center (RCC) invites an experienced Application Software Developer to join the software development team supporting faculty and researchers. You will design, develop, test, and deploy web and server-side applications using Python, JavaScript, and modern frameworks, while collaborating with researchers to turn ideas into reliable software.

This hybrid role requires at least 3 days on campus and offers opportunities to work with HPC resources, CI/CD

Qualifications

• College degree in related field and 2–5 years of work experience in software development.
• Proficiency with Linux/UNIX, Python, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
• Experience with Docker, RESTful APIs, Git, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions following best practices.
• Build server-side applications and ensure secure, efficient data handling.
