Children's National Hospital (CN)
Based in Washington, D.C., the hospital was established in 1870 to help every child grow up stronger. Today, it is a 323-bed acute care hospital, the only freestanding healthcare facility exclusively for children, and the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore area. It serves as the regional referral center for pediatric emergencies, trauma, cancer, cardiac, and critical care, as well as neonatology, orthopaedic surgery, neurology, and neurosurgery. The hospital has a regional presence with 16 specialty care centers in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and two ambulatory surgery centers in Maryland. The Pediatric Health Network includes 1,500 primary and specialty care physicians, along with 17 primary care offices throughout Maryland and D.C.

The research institute is the academic arm of CN, with over 800 faculty and staff dedicated to improving children's health through innovative research, education, and collaboration. The Center for Neuroscience Research (CNR), part of CNRI, hosts over 50 neuroscientists focused on neurodevelopment and disorders, with partnerships across several universities and a focus on commercializing research outputs.
