Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone Health, seeks a Research Associate to join the Sahu Lab. The lab studies mammary gland development and breast cancer using stem cells, 3D organoids, and genetic tools.

You will contribute to cutting-edge developmental biology and cancer research while learning advanced lab techniques in a collaborative environment. The role aims to build a portfolio of research accomplishments and prepare for higher degrees in biomedical research or medicine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Physical Sciences.
• Minimum commitment of two years; placement may not exceed three years.
• Prior research experience in a laboratory setting.
• Effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Train graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in experimental design and technique.
• Generate hypotheses and design and perform experiments.
• Execute multiple experiments independently over time.
• Record all findings in a laboratory notebook and interpret results.
• Test protocol modifications based on results.
• Prepare figures and diagrams for presentations and publications.
• Communicate results and collaborate with lab colleagues.
• Contribute intellectual input to project design.
• Present findings at lab meetings and engage in scientific discussions.
• Read relevant literature to inform experiments.
• Contribute to preparation of articles and grant-related documents.
• Assist in editing and proofing grant proposals and annual reports.
