An affiliate of Colossal is looking for a talented research associate to work on large scale editing of non-model mammalian organisms. You will work closely with other lab team members in efforts to innovate on protocols for efficient genome editing using cutting edge technologies.

This position is based out of Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior lab members to design, develop and test multiplex genome engineering tools in mammalian cells
  • Work with team members to assess efficiency of genome engineering tools through functional cellular assays and NGS sequencing approaches
  • Work on project milestones
  • Attends lab meetings, prepares reports and presentations on the progress of projects
  • Great organizational skills and excellent laboratory record maintenance

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture systems
  • Knowledge of mammalian genome engineering tools, cell culture, transfection methodologies
  • Required experience in molecular biology (nucleic and protein extraction, gel electrophoresis) and cloning techniques (restriction enzyme-based cloning, Gibson assembly, Gateway)
  • Preferred experience with molecular biology techniques, such as qPCR and flow cytometry
  • Preferred Experience with sequence analysis software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as creative problem-solving skills

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS/MA/MS in biological sciences, bioengineering, molecular biology, genetics, or any science related field.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for any future visa sponsorship.
