Position Summary:
PTM Bio is actively seeking an exceptional and motivated Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join
our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct proteomics experiments on client samples with
precision and efficiency, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate scientific reports. Daily duties encompass a
range of tasks including sample preparation, MS data acquisition, data analysis, and the generation of
comprehensive customer reports. The successful candidate will handle diverse proteomics samples and will also
be responsible for operating and maintaining state-of-the-art mass spectrometers. Additionally, this role involves
some lab coordination duties. We are looking for an ideal candidate who can consistently adhere to Standard
Operational Procedures (SOP) for sample preparation in proteomics. Experience with HPLC, Orbitrap mass spec,
and/or liquid handling automation is highly desirable.

Major Responsibilities:
Follow SOPs to conduct experiments in a timely manner, including: Upfront sample extraction, MS
sample preparation, sample purification/fractionation and LC-MS/MS Operations.
Generating customer reports with internal bioinformatic tools.
Manage and maintain lab consumables.
Perform weekly Mass Spec maintenance and HPLC calibration.
Assist with new method developments: including method developments for sample preparation,
chromatography methods and/or mass spectrometry methods.
Prepare and present scientific update when needed.
Routinely report, update and communicate with manager.
Job Requirements:
B.S./M.S. degree with Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or other biochemistry related major is
preferred.
Experienced with proteomics sample handling is a plus.
Follow SOPs to consistently prepare samples.
Effectively document fine details/incidents of the experiments.
Experienced in handling various kinds of sample preparations including chemical standards, purified
proteins, cell lysates, biological fluids, or dissected tissues.
Able to follow instructions and work in collaborative environment.
Hands-on experience in HPLC, UPLC and mass spectrometry is desired.
