Job description

About

Equis is a set of organizations (including Equis Research, Equis Institute, and EquisLabs) working to create a better understanding of Latinos, innovate new approaches to reach and engage them, and invest in the leadership and infrastructure for long-term change and increased engagement.

At Equis Research we lean into the complexities of Latino voters in the United States, ensuring they get the sophistication of treatment and level of attention that matches their critical role in the electorate. We act as a public utility, using a diversity of tools (polling, qualitative insights, digital testing, voter data and analytics, along with best practices from other sectors) to shape the decisions of the political and policy ecosystem. People who are invisible in the data are invisible to campaigns and decision-makers; we aim to make them visible, and shift from a paradigm of neglect to one of engagement. Some of our previous public analysis is available here.

Position Summary

The Senior Research Associate is a dynamic researcher who executes on projects including but not limited to Equis’ flagship electoral research series – encompassing polls, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and/or message testing. They work alongside the Research Director to develop actionable, data-driven insights and recommendations on how to better engage Latino voters in competitive states/districts. In addition to project management, the Senior Research Associate contributes to analysis of the research and produces deliverables including high-quality memos and decks for both internal and external audiences. The Senior Research Associate also owns internal and external research requests related to the electoral research series, including those that come from funders and partners. • Produces high-quality memos, proposals, and presentations for external and internal audiences
  • Maintains relationships and communication related to their assigned partners and relevant stakeholders, keeping them updated on project progress and shares relevant research materials and findings
  • Coordinates with external vendors, such as pollsters, and with internal Equis departments to ensure individual projects are completed effectively and on time
  • Serves as the main point of contact for research requests related to electoral research and associated research projects
  • Provides guidance and support to the Research Associate, including assistance during the execution of their projects, as needed
  • Collaborates closely with other Managers/Deputy Directors to ensure coordination between projects as needed, identify opportunities for cross-team collaboration, and improve overall cross-departmental synergy
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years overall experience
