Job summary

Cogent Biosciences is seeking a Research Associate to support our Pharmacology and Cell Biology teams in Boulder, CO. The role involves routine animal care, dosing, and lab organization, with opportunities to expand into cell biology workflows as experience grows.

You will perform daily animal care, administer test articles to mice and rats, and help maintain and organize lab inventory, ensuring study protocols are followed and records are accurately kept.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory animal care experience preferred, but not required
• Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• Experience in administration of test articles to mice and rats (oral gavage and IP)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple team members
• Ability to work independently and maintain consistency in care
• Willingness to learn new techniques and responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide daily care for research animals
• Administer oral and IP test articles to mice and rats
• Perform cage washing, preparation, and general husbandry tasks
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility
• Accurately follow study protocols and document completed activities as required
• Assist in study activities
• Maintain laboratory inventory, order, and restock supplies as needed
• Assist with routine instrument maintenance
• Manage laboratory organization and generate a shared-resource inventory using online data base systems (example: FreezerPro)
