Research Associate - MSB-Ob/Gyn-Maternal Fetal (Finance)
Larry C. Gilstrap, MD, Center for Perinatal and Women's Health Research, serves as the Clinical Trials Coordinating Center for the Obstetrics and Gynecology department at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston (UTHealth). The center aims to streamline the clinical research process, facilitating the development of clinical trials from inception to completion efficiently. It coordinates all aspects of clinical trials and interventional studies, including clinical operations, committee oversight, protocol development, budget management, database maintenance, study monitoring, and collaboration with data analysis, presentations, and publications.
Position Summary:
The Research Associate plans, conducts, and directs a variety of experiments, assisting with daily research activities that may influence the success of the projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Skills and Certification:
Knowledge of basic and advanced laboratory equipment.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree with three years of research experience, including leadership roles; or Master's degree with one year of research experience; or Doctorate degree.
Minimum Experience:
Experience requirements vary based on education level.
Preferred Experience:
At least 3 years of clinical research experience and research certification (e.g., SOCRA).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently; may involve working with hazardous agents.
Security Sensitive:
This position may be security sensitive under Texas Education Code § 51.215.
Residency Requirement:
Must reside and work in Texas permanently.
