Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Research Associate III - Assay Development to join a biotech team in Oro Valley, AZ. This 24-month assignment focuses on lab research, development and manufacturing support for Ventana projects, with emphasis on design, execution and data interpretation of experiments.

The successful candidate will perform complex wet-lab work, generate technical reports, and ensure GMP/GLP-compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences is required.
• 4–6 years of relevant post‑college experience.
• Proficiency with wet laboratory techniques, literature search, and basic software tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision and data analysis.
• Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses; maintain records.

JOB TITLE: Research Associate III - Assay Development

LOCATION: Oro Valley, AZ 85755

DURATION: 24 Months with Possible ext. or FTE

THE OPPORTUNITY

• Conduct research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation to support Ventana projects.
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments and apply technical expertise toward project strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses and present results to the team, while maintaining complete, accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with company policies (e.g., GMP, GLP, Design Control).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision, including making observations and analyzing data.
• Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses; maintain complete and accurate records.
• Troubleshoot problems and institute corrective actions.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment by providing creative solutions and input to project planning.
• Contribute to process improvement suggestions and assist in identifying patentable inventions.
• Train colleagues and monitor work to ensure quality and continuous adherence to the Quality First Time principle.
• Exercise judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for complex problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences
• Experience: 4-6 years of relevant post-college job experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in a range of specialized wet laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, using a balance and stir plate, etc.); capable of searching scientific literature; skilled with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
• Soft Skills: Good communication and presentation skills, meticulous attention to detail, coachable, collaborative, and a proven ability and desire to learn.

• Experience with SAFe/Agile planning processes and reporting frameworks
