Research Associate II, Medicinal Chemistry

Our drug discovery center brings together a team of expert scientists who collaborate with world-renowned academic institutions to translate cutting-edge biological discoveries into novel therapeutic strategies. By integrating pioneering technologies with industry-standard drug development practices, we work on some of the most challenging targets across a wide range of disease areas—including oncology, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, psychiatric conditions, infectious diseases, and rare genetic diseases.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate bench-based research associate to support several grant funded early drug discovery projects in medicinal chemistry. We will provide cutting-edge medicinal chemistry professional training to support the candidate in driving therapeutic discovery at the bench through the synthesis and isolation of novel therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will have experience with modern synthetic and purification techniques and the characterization of small molecules. Experience in medicinal chemistry is a plus.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

• Under supervision, synthesize, isolate, and purify novel small molecules to advance ongoing projects.
• Documenting work in electronic notebooks in a timely manner
• With the supervisor, analyze and effectively present results to the chemistry team
• Working in partnership with team members and collaborators, deliver on project goals and milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. in Chemistry, or a closely related field, with 0-2 years organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry research experience
• Experience with single and multi-step chemical synthesis
• Familiarity with modern normal phase, reverse phase chromatography, and HPLC purification techniques
• Familiarity with analyzing LCMS and NMR spectra to support compound characterization and registration.
• A proven record of successful communication and interaction with project team members

The successful candidate will be a results-focused, team-oriented scientist able to excel in a fast-track environment across multiple projects. They must be accountable, self-motivated, detail-oriented and exhibit problem solving skills. In addition, the successful candidate will be a clear and effective communicator, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills to enable collaboration with team members.
