Job summary

System One Clinical & Science is seeking a Research Associate I located onsite in San Diego, CA. The role involves designing and performing experiments under supervision, with responsibilities including data analysis, protocol execution, and reagent preparation.

The position is contract-based, with typical 8:00 AM–4:30 PM hours, and requires 0–2 years of post-baccalaureate lab experience, familiarity with GLP, and strong communication skills. Benefits are offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.A./B.S. in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related field.
• 0-2 years post-baccalaureate lab experience in academia or industry.
• Good knowledge of GLP.
• Working knowledge of lab safety and record keeping.
• Strong mathematics skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

• Performs minimally complex experiments with input from supervisor.
• Understands experimental goal and may provide input to the experimental design.
• Analyzes data from individual experiment with input from supervisor and documents work in laboratory notebook or report.
• Able to summarize a group of experiments.
• Effectively communicates with peers and supervisor. May present data in group meetings.
• Prepares reagents and panels.
• Participates in lab maintenance activities.
• Maintains training log.
• Ensures proper transportation, handling, and disposal of hazardous, bio-hazardous and/or infectious substances.
• Operates and calibrates all general lab equipment.
• With instruction from supervisor, may write study protocols and reports to support part of the project.

• 0 - 2 years post-baccalaureate laboratory experience in academia or industry
