Job summary

Superluminal Medicines, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate to support cell biology, assay development, and screening within our Biology team.

The role focuses on expanding proficiency in mammalian cell culture, assay optimization, and data management to drive early drug discovery programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, Cell Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience working with 384-well plate-based assay formats.
  • Experience with plate-based in vitro assays (HTRF, luminescence, BRET, or Alpha).
  • Experience executing cell-based assays, including assay optimization and routine screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture and maintain mammalian cell lines.
  • Execute routine cell-based assays to support early-stage drug discovery programs.
  • Assist with development and optimization of new cell-based assays for screening.
  • Generate, analyze, document, and upload experimental data to company databases.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and data management requirements.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate with cell biology, assay development and screening experience to join our growing Biology team. The successful candidate is curious, self-driven and looking to expand their existing proficiencies in cell biology, assay development and screening to contribute to drug discovery programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture and maintain mammalian cell lines.
  • Execute routine cell-based assays to support early-stage drug discovery programs.
  • Under the guidance of the manager, assist with the development and optimization of new cell-based assays for screening.
  • Generate, analyze, document, and upload experimental data to company databases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with established laboratory practices, SOPs, and company policies, including both wet lab and electronic data management requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, Cell Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience working with 384-well plate-based assay formats.
  • Experience with plate-based in vitro assays, including one or more of the following technologies: HTRF, luminescence, BRET, or Alpha assays.
  • Experience executing cell-based assays, including assay optimization and routine screening campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with laboratory automation and/or semi-automated assay workflows
  • Experience in small molecule drug discovery

Pay Range
$75,000 - $100,000

The annual base salary range listed above represents the lowest and highest amounts we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An individual’s starting base salary within this range will be based on relevant experience, job-related skills, and education relevant to the role. In addition to base salary, this position offers bonus and equity opportunities, as well as benefits.

Superluminal offers a comprehensive benefits package that fully covers employees’ annual deductibles and monthly premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance. The package also includes a 401(k) match program, a Massachusetts transportation subsidy, equity, unlimited paid time off, and both disability and life insurance.
