Job summary

RBC in New York is seeking a Capital Markets Research Associate to support the Senior Analyst by developing and maintaining company-specific financial models, coordinating research reports and databases, and assisting with client inquiries.

You will gain expertise in the Consumer Retail - Softlines sector while ensuring quality research and timely responses in a fast-paced trading floor environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with a focus on Business, Mathematics or other quantitative fields.
• FINRA Licensing Requirements – Series 7, 63, 86 & 87, SIE.
• 1–3 years experience in capital markets, equity research or investment banking a plus; experience in Consumer sector preferred.
• Excellent writing and communications skills.
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office and sourcing data from the internet and publications.
• Superior customer service focus and attitude for internal and external clients.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; detail oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task; self-starter who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and detailed modeling of company-specific financial models.
• Coordinate, generate and maintain research reports, presentations and databases.
• Provide research support to analysts as required.
• Develop expertise in the Consumer Retail - Softlines sector.
• Support and answer client queries as they relate to the sector.
• Identify operational risks and control deficiencies; escalate promptly.
• Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to business activities.
