Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis invites applications for a Research Assistant, with start dates in Spring or Summer 2027. The RA works with renowned economists, visiting fellows and scholars to conduct statistical and econometric research for publication in journals.

Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and preparing short articles and Beige Book summaries, using Excel and Stata, R, Matlab, Python, Julia and SAS. Two-year employment with potential academic progression.

Qualifications

  • GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, econometrics, or quantitative economics.
  • Strong background in mathematics and statistics (Calculus II, Econometrics, Linear Algebra, Differential equations).
  • Previous economic research experience (undergraduate RA, research internship, or independent project).

What are the day-to-day activities?

The Bank’s RA program is structured as a two-year program, with most RAs continuing on to graduate programs or other careers in economics or related fields after two years with the Bank. Employment is at-will.

Salary: $62,800 - $78,500 annual
