Job summary

The Research Associate in Dr. Pomerantz's lab will perform cryo-EM structure biology, X-ray crystallography, and biochemical studies on DNA repair proteins involved in cancer.

You will design experiments, interpret results, train graduate students on Cryo-EM and related techniques, and maintain databases of methods, plasmids, and resources. This is grant-funded and requires excellent record-keeping and problem solving.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD required with at least 5 years of bench research in cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in protein biochemistry and molecular biology.
• Candidate should be able to train graduate students and design experiments independently.

Responsibilities

They will also record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.Job DescriptionDr. Pomerantz is looking for a new Research Associate. 100% grant funded.The Pomerantz lab seeks a Research Associate to conduct cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structure biology, X-ray crystallography, and biochemical research on DNA repair proteins involved in cancer proliferation. The position requires a PhD, a minimum of 5 years of experience in cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography methods and solving high-resolution cryo-EM and X-ray structures, a minumum of 6 years of experience in protein biochemistry and molecular biology. The preferred candidate will have expertise in the structure biology of nucleic-acid enzymes.The Research Associate will be required to independently design experimental procedures and interpret results, form hypotheses, and train graduate students on cryo-electron microscopy techniques and other structure biology techniques.The Research Associate will record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.
