Position Overview:

The Research Associate will provide professional, substantive, technical, and administrative support to clinicians and researchers in the implementation, day-to-day operations, financial stewardship, management of timelines and deliverables, and dissemination of findings on research projects.

Essential Functions:

Research Project Management & Coordination
  • Lead and support research projects from planning through closeout.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment of timelines, resources, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate effectively with investigators, project teams, finance departments, and partner organizations to achieve project goals.
  • Identify barriers, implement solutions, and adjust project plans as needed to maintain progress.
Research Methods & Data Management
  • Demonstrated understanding of health services research, study design, and research methodologies.
  • Support the translation and operationalization of research protocols and study activities.
  • Apply quantitative and qualitative research methods to support study objectives.Manage data collection, transfers, and quality control processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with study protocols and data use agreements.
Participant & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Recruit, engage, and manage study participants.
  • Collaborate with research partners, advisors, stakeholders, and partner sites to support study implementation.
  • Foster strong working relationships that encourage participation, compliance, and successful project outcomes.
Research Compliance & Administration
  • Oversee regulatory requirements, including IRB submissions, approvals, and ongoing compliance activities.
  • Manage study agreements and ensure adherence to research governance requirements.
  • Support research administration and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting, Dissemination & Communication
  • Prepare and coordinate research deliverables, including reports, manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and other dissemination materials.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings and stakeholder communications.
  • Track milestones, action items, and project progress to ensure successful execution.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Resolve issues, negotiate project adjustments, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and operational excellence throughout the research process.
Requirements
  • A Master’s level research or health-related degree required.
  • At least 2 years of health-related research experience (degree or additional educational and training must be in a social, behavioral, health services, or other medical or public health field appropriate to the specific field of research required by the position).
  • Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Constant interpersonal skills, teamwork, and customer service. Frequent creativity, mentoring, presentations/teaching. Occasional decision making and independent judgment or action.
  • Reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • This position requires a virtual home-office environment, working remotely.
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and mobile devices.
  • Travel is required to support OCHIN’s business requirements for Go-Live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

  • Travel required up to 20% nationally for on-site Go Live support based on business requirements for OCHIN
