Job summary

Marquette University invites applications for a Limited Term (End Date of Assignment) research faculty position in Biological Sciences. The 37.5-hour week appointment will involve research, mentoring students, maintaining lab safety, and contributing to manuscript and grant writing.

The selected candidate will collect and analyze data, design experiments, assist with budgets and documentation, and support PI meetings to assess data validity and lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze and report on experimental data; create and maintain accurate records of test results and protocol design.

• Participate in meetings with Principal Investigator to evaluate data and procedures.
• Monitor lab expenses and assist with budgetary responsibilities; write protocols for committee approval.
• Design experimental procedures/protocols; statistical analysis; prepare progress reports and presentations.
• Design and/or fabricate test fixtures, jigs, and specialized equipment as needed.

Position Overview

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) or appropriate terminal degree. Must possess strong communication and analytical skills; thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures; and the ability to implement research projects. Must be willing to work flexible hours as necessary.
