Job Description:
A position is available for a bioanalytical scientist to join a protein mass spectrometry laboratory lab in Client’s Pharmacokinetics Dynamics and Metabolism department. The lab based role will focus on small scale preparation of biological samples such as cells, tissues or plasma for subsequent mass spectrometry measurement. This includes lysis, protein immunoprecipitation using beads and antibodies, protein digestions, filtration, pre-concentrations of proteins and peptide digests. The successful candidate is detail-oriented and, following training, can operate independently. This position requires demonstrated experience in successfully executing complex bioanalytical procedures. Expertise in immunoanalytical workflows and in protein biochemistry, or proteomics techniques is a plus. We are looking for a scientist passionate about learning and quickly applying new skills to project needs.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparation of samples for mass spectrometry analysis
• Design of experiments in collaboration with colleagues

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• BS/MS degree in chemistry, biological sciences, biochemistry or related fields (NON-PhD)
• Recent graduate
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
• LC-MS biological sample preparation involving a multi-step process to isolate, purify, and concentrate the analytes of interest for the LCMS analysis
• Operation of laboratory equipment
• Works well both independently and as part of a team. Collaborative skills and effective partnering skills in a matrix-environment
• Strong data organization, analysis, and communication skills
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Standard laboratory operations: standing, walking, sitting, light lifting.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday / First shift
