Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Assistant Professor - 9-month, non-tenure track - will support multiple Department of Education Reform research projects, many of which are conducted in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education. Current projects focus on a variety of topics in education policy, including teacher workforce, school finance, school choice programs, and career and technical education. Responsibilities include data collection, managing and analyzing large datasets, writing and editing research reports and journal articles, and supporting stakeholder outreach. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to policy-relevant education research that shapes the future of schools in Arkansas and across the nation.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, Data Science, or a related field conferred by start of employment from an accredited institution of higher education

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the U.S. education system, preferably in Arkansas

  • Experience managing large datasets

  • Proficiency in conducting statistical and data science analyses

  • Demonstrated ability to produce research papers and presentations on education issues, incorporating quantitative analysis

Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience
