The University of Pittsburgh seeks a full-time Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology. This role involves advanced research in infectious diseases, mentoring students, and teaching. The Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology in the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh is recruiting a full-time faculty member in the non-tenure stream at the rank of Research Assistant Professor level.
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD, MD, or DVM with post-doctoral training in areas related to infectious diseases and microbiology. Research areas involving Emerging or Re-emerging Arboviral Diseases, B-cell memory and antibody responses, and mechanisms of immunity and pathogenesis are preferred. Evidence of collaboration and success in these and related areas is required. Demonstrated scholarly productivity and independent investigator status are also required.
The academic responsibilities of this position include conducting cutting-edge, externally funded research to advance understanding and control of infectious diseases, mentoring and advising students, teaching in the department’s master's and doctoral programs, and training students in research methods.
