The Wang Lab at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University (https://sites.rutgers.edu/jun-wang-lab/) invites applications with biochemistry/molecular biology background for one non-tenure track, grant funded, Research Assistant Professor position. Wang lab focuses on drug discovery and pharmacology of antivirals targeting emerging and re-emerging viruses including SARS-CoV-2, orthopoxviruses, enteroviruses, and influenza viruses. Non-tenure track faculty hire will be supervised by Dr. Jun Wang and will have many opportunities for collaborative research in structural biology, animal models, computational modeling, and virology. Qualifications





Doctorate degree in Microbiology, Virology, Biochemistry, Synthetic Biology, Pharmacology or a related field, with at least one-year postdoc experience.

Preferred qualifications:
Strong research record in areas of molecular cloning, enzymology, protein expression/purification, synthetic biology, analytic chemistry, animal models, assay development and others relevant to drug discovery and pharmacology.

Additional preferred qualifications will include, but not limited to:
Demonstrated expertise in molecular cloning and protein chemistry
Demonstrated expertise in mechanistic enzymology
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Multi-task with multiple projects and keeping pace in a dynamic research environment
Independent in literature search and literature update
Excellent oral and writing communication skills
Demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
