Job description

The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Medical Center is seeking highly qualified individuals for faculty positions in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and research. Appointments can be at the Assistant, Associate, Professor, or Associate Research Scientist level, depending on experience and qualifications. All positions require outstanding academic credentials and a record of scholarly productivity.


Clinical positions require board certification or board eligibility and a NYS license. Research positions require a record of publication in leading journals, a statement of research directions, and a history of successful research funding is desirable.


Columbia University's Department of Pathology & Cell Biology invites applications for junior/senior level faculty positions. Candidates should have a strong record of research and teaching qualifications. Candidates will be expected to maintain an active research and publication portfolio, supervise graduate students and fellows, and play a vital role in departmental activities.

Minimum Degree Required: M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.


Minimum Qualifications: Depending on the research field and departmental needs, certain subspecialties may be preferred. Current research specialties include Cancer Biology, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, Cell Motility, Cytoskeleton and Intracellular Trafficking, Virology, Neuronal Stem Cells, and Precision Medicine, among others.


Preferred Qualifications: Similar to minimum qualifications, with preferred subspecialties depending on departmental needs.
