Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Research Assistant to support Pediatric Cancer Equity Studies at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. The role involves data capture, enrollment, consent, and bilingual data collection in English and Spanish.

You will assist in building study databases, conduct quality checks, and contribute to regulatory tasks and grant writing, under supervision within a dynamic research team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in public health, epidemiology or related field.
• Experience with scientific manuscripts and grant writing.
• Strong decision-making and independent problem solving.
• Proficient word processing, spreadsheets and presentations; strong typing.
• Ability to interpret study protocols and coordinate tasks for compliance.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; clear, tactful interaction.
• Ability to work independently under deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience with IRB regulatory tasks and manuscript/grant writing.

Responsibilities

• Capture and maintain data for Pediatric Cancer Equity Studies.
• Assist with participant enrollment and consent in English and Spanish.
• Data collection, entry and creation of data collection tools.
• Collaborate with the research team on project databases and quality checks.
• Perform IRB regulatory duties and literature searches when needed.
• Contribute to scientific writing and grant preparation.
