Job summary

The University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a Research Assistant in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine to support biomedical research through laboratory experiments, data analysis, and active collaboration with clinicians. Qualifications

• Four years of experience in biology/biochemistry or related area; relevant education may substitute for experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related discipline with animal research experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments including tissue culture, sectioning, staining, and molecular analyses.
• Genotype transgenic animals, perform animal procedures, and collect tissue samples.
• Assist with human tissue collection and informed consent processes.
• Support data analysis and manuscript/grant preparation under PI guidance.
• Contribute to research presentations and laboratory management.
