Job summary

Gleiss Lutz in Germany seeks research assistants and trainee lawyers to join its corporate/M&A Japan team across Germany. You’ll work with our lawyers and assist on ongoing client work, including advice to Japanese clients on M&A, corporate law, and antitrust.

You can start at any time – during your university studies, your doctorate, or while completing your practical legal training. A strong command of English and a rigorous analytical approach are expected.

Qualifications

• First state examination in law with at least a fully satisfactory grade.
• Very good command of English.
• Interest in business-related issues and challenging work.
• Enthusiasm for applying innovative technologies in the legal profession.
• Structured approach to legal analysis.
• Availability to work at least two days a week.

Responsibilities

• Assist our lawyers on ongoing client work and advise on M&A, corporate law, competition/antitrust and other areas for our Japanese clients.
• Support on the advice provided to our Japanese clients on M&A transactions, corporate law, competition/antitrust and other areas of law.

We are seeking research assistants (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter) and trainee lawyers (Referendare) (m/f/d) to join our corporate/M&A practices’ Japan team at our offices across Germany.

Your role

You’ll work closely with our lawyers and assist on ongoing client work. You’ll assist on the advice provided to our Japanese clients on M&A transactions, corporate law, competition/antitrust and other areas of law.

Your profile

• First (or first and second) state examination(s), each with a grade of fully satisfactory (vollbefriedigend) or better
• Very good command of English
• Interest in business‑related issues and challenging work
• Enthusiasm for applying innovative technologies in the legal profession
• A structured approach to legal analysis
• Availability to work at least two days a week
