Job summary

The Getty Research Institute, part of The J. Paul Getty Trust, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. The role supports dissemination, exhibitions and publications, with emphasis on research materials from GRI Special Collections.

The ideal candidate is a graduate student with strong Spanish and a background in Pre-Columbian art history and/or archaeology, Latin American studies, and a collaborative mindset for a three-year term.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in art history or related field; Master's preferred; PhD/ABD welcome.
• Background in Pre-Columbian art history, archaeology, or Latin American studies.
• 0-2 years research experience; education may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research in GRI Special Collections.
• Organizes documentation of research materials and literature reviews.
• Assists with ongoing research on Latin-American art from ancient to contemporary.
• Supports work across Digital Media, Content Strategy, Internal/External Affairs, and Publications.
