Job summary

Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Research Assistant to support Principal Investigators in the MPH Program and Pharmacology Department. The role reports to the PI or senior lab member and collaborates with the MPH Program Director and Department Chair.

The candidate will perform molecular experiments (PCR), cell culture and DNA extraction, maintain records, manage data, and assist with animal work including mice. Strong organization and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related science.
• 0–2 years of research experience required.
• Willingness to work with animals.
• Strong data management and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter data and review for accuracy.
• Maintain an accurate laboratory notebook.
• Adhere to laboratory safety procedures.
• Assist in standard maintenance of the laboratory.
• Order and receive lab supplies.
• Prepare and execute experiments (PCR, dissections, cell culture, DNA extraction and sequencing).
• Assist with breeding and dissection of mice; may inject mice.
• Collect and analyze data under supervision.
• Train students; contribute to abstracts/manuscripts.
