Scripps Research in La Jolla, CA is seeking a Research Assistant III to join a lab focused on early diabetes diagnosis and immune mechanisms that destroy insulin-producing beta cells, using mouse models and human samples.

The role involves performing cellular, molecular, and biochemical techniques, including flow cytometry, tissue culture, T cell assays, and ELISA, with opportunities to design experiments and mentor interns.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ lab experience; master’s degree with 3+ years may substitute.
• Experience with flow cytometry, ELISA and cell culture is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform a broad range of laboratory techniques spanning cellular, molecular, and biochemical methods.
• Conduct flow cytometry, tissue culture, T cell assays, and ELISA.
• Apply basic animal research techniques.
• Assist in designing experiments and operate sophisticated scientific laboratory equipment.
• Plan and conduct small to mid-sized research projects, including non-routine procedures.
• Supervise or provide work direction to interns, students, and staff as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
