Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Research Assistant II+ to perform routine and specialized laboratory experiments, prepare specimens, and analyze data under minimal supervision. You will use specialized equipment and may contribute to experimental design.

Responsibilities include choosing techniques, evaluating results, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining records with statistical analyses. A Bachelor's with 3+ years or a Master's with 1+ year are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or Master's of Science with 1+ year of relevant work experience.
• At least one year of relevant research experience.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and contribute to team efforts.

• Coach RA I/II, interns, and Co Ops on basic lab techniques.

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experimental, specimen preparations and experimental procedures for the purpose of research. Utilizes specialized laboratory equipment and analysis of data generated by this equipment. May contribute to experimental design.

Key Responsibilities

• * Independently decides which techniques may be appropriate for specific experimental investigations and carries out those experiments with minimal supervision or independently.
• * Critically evaluates experimental results independently and provides summaries or interpretation of results to PI.
• * RA II plus under minimal supervision. Contributes to the team within and between departments and organizations.
• * Coaches RA I and RA II, interns, Co Ops on basic lab techniques.
• * Calculates, graphs and compiles data obtained, maintaining records and logs of work performed; uses computer to perform statistical analyses.

Minimum Experience Education:

• * Bachelor's degree, AND a minimum three years of relevant experience OR Master's of Science AND one year of relevant work experience.

Experience:

• * At least one year of relevant research experience

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
