Job summary

The University of Louisville's Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics seeks a Research Assistant II to support an NIH-funded project examining diet and environmental toxins on liver injury models. You will use R and Python, perform PCR and tissue culture, and assist with RNA-seq data analysis.

Strong candidates have an Associate degree with experience, and preferred applicants hold a Bachelor's in Genomic Medicine with lab skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Genomic Medicine; skills in R and Python programming, PCR, tissue culture, western blotting for proteins, confocal microscopy, and RNA-seq data analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with Principal Investigator and team on efficient, ongoing operations and quality control equipment.
• Support fellow lab members and collaborators in their research.
• Keep detailed records and work proficiently with a database.
• In collaboration with Principal Investigator establish new, and modify existing, standard operating procedures.
