Job summary

University of Louisville is seeking a Research Scientist in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology to lead mass spectrometry–based research on metabolites, lipids, and biomolecules related to health and disease. You will oversee LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, data analysis, and method development, while mentoring students and collaborating across projects.

The role requires independent experimental design, rigorous data processing, and strong communication to present findings and contribute to grants

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent required with strong publication record.
• Experience leading MS-based metabolomics projects.
• Ability to mentor students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mass spectrometry–based metabolomics research programs.
• Operate and optimize GC/LC-MS instrumentation and workflows.
• Train graduate students and staff in MS methodologies and data analysis.
• Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, and grant applications.
