Job Summary

Full-time Research Assistant (RA) wanted for an exciting, large-scale project in the laboratory of Professor Randy Buckner.

Job-Specific Responsibilities
  • Data acquisition using behavioral and neuroimaging techniques (MRI).
  • Data entry, data checking, and quality control procedures.
  • Subject recruitment and enrollment through community outreach and advertising.
  • Serve as an interface among several collaborating lab groups.
  • Maintain participant databases.
  • Score and process data.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
Basic Qualifications

Background in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field and previous research experience is required.

Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • B.A. or B.S. preferred.
  • Proficiency with basic computing packages such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Linux, MATLAB, SPM, FSL, fMRI.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of organization with careful attention to detail.
  • Comfort with technical skills.
  • High degree of motivation and self-sufficiency. Extensive training and supervision will be provided.
Position Details
  • Standard hours: 35 hours per week.
  • Visa sponsorship: unavailable.
  • Pre-employment screening: identity.
  • Location: Cambridge, MA; fully on site.
  • One-year term position with renewal dependent upon continuation of funding.
  • Requires flexibility for occasional evening and/or weekend MRI scan slots.
