Langara College is seeking a Research Assistant to support applied research projects under a research supervisor. The role involves data gathering, software tasks, literature reviews, and coordination with stakeholders across the project team.

The position requires at least two years of post-secondary study related to the field, one year of related research or lab experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of minimum two (2) years of post-secondary studies related to the field of inquiry.
• Minimum one (1) years’ related research or lab assistance experience.
• Sound experience performing laboratory analysis and utilizing research software/analysis tool in field of inquiry
• Experience preparing written reports.

Responsabilités

• Performs analysis/develop software/conduct interviews as directed by the Research Supervisor and/or Research Associate.
• Accurately and consistently records and analyzes results or transcriptions and procedures.
• Assists with preparation of written reports, academic papers, and conference or community presentations.
• Analyzes experimental data/software performance/survey results.
• Communicates results in written and oral reports.
• Performs literature searches and summarizes results.
• Contributes to the information for control and back up.
• Maintains the working environment including anticipating and ordering supplies.
• Operates and performs routine maintenance on advanced equipment/software/survey tools.
• Train and assist students with performing data gathering activities as directed by supervisor or other research team members.
• Maintain and evaluate work environment safety
• Performs other related project duties as assigned.
