The Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) is a livinglaboratory where we investigate the relationship between computertechnology, human activity, and society. Founded in 1993, the HCIIis a place where we work to understand and create technology thatharmonizes with and improves human capabilities, goals, and socialenvironments through interdisciplinary research and education indesign, computer science, and behavioral and social sciences. Weresearch how people work, play, and communicate within groups,organizations, and social structures, then we design, create, andevaluate technologies and tools to support human and socialactivities.

HCII is seeking a Research Assistant to assist in thedevelopment and execution of research projects including experimentdesign, analysis of data collected and writing up experimentresults. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrivesin an interesting and challenging work environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate,collect and record results or observations.
• Performs research experiments following experimental protocoland procedures. Researches and documents information by compilingand maintaining accurate and detailed records.
• Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination orpresentation; writes technical reports. May build and validatequantitative models.
• Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; developsstrategies to solve problems.
• May program software in support of job functions. Attendsproject meetings.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
