Weill Cornell Medicine's laboratory is seeking motivated individuals for Research Assistant and Senior Research Associate positions. Join a collaborative team focused on HIV cure research, benefiting from extensive mentorship and career development opportunities. Ideal candidates should have strong research backgrounds in immunology and virology, with senior roles requiring leadership in project design and execution.
We are growing our team!! www.bradjoneslab.org
The laboratory of Dr. Brad Jones at Weill Cornell Medicine is actively recruiting at multiple levels, including Research Assistants/Specialists, Research Associate (Staff Scientist), and Senior Research Associate positions.
Our laboratory is located in the state-of-the-art Belfer Research Building in Manhattan, benefiting from a vibrant academic community with robust collaborations facilitated through a tri-institutional network that includes Rockefeller University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Jones is the Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded Martin Delaney 'REACH' Collaboratory-a $27 million initiative involving 17 national and international institutions. Candidates joining our team will gain access to unparalleled resources and collaborative opportunities within this expansive research network.
Our primary research focus is on understanding and harnessing the potential of natural and engineered cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs) and natural killer (NK) cells to achieve sterilizing or functional cures for HIV infection.
Specifically, we investigate mechanisms beyond viral latency that allow HIV-infected reservoir cells to evade immune clearance, alongside exploring innovative strategies to enhance CTL and NK cell functionality. Research methods include studies with ex vivo samples from clinical study participants and cutting-edge in vivo modeling.
Successful interventions have potential pathways into non-human primate studies and clinical trials via the REACH Collaboratory.
We seek highly motivated, intellectually curious, and collaborative individuals who aspire to contribute meaningfully to HIV cure research.
Positions at the Research Assistant level are ideal for recent BS graduates aiming to gain significant research experience prior to pursuing PhD or MD/PhD programs. Candidates in these roles will benefit from extensive mentorship, career development opportunities, and active participation in publications and scientific presentations. Historically, research assistants from our lab have successfully co-authored multiple publications, presented at prominent scientific conferences, and secured placements in leading PhD programs.
Senior-Level Positions:
We are also seeking exceptional candidates for Senior Research Associate positions. Ideal applicants for these roles will have a strong track record of impactful research productivity, demonstrated by high-quality publications and evidence of successful grant or project leadership. Candidates should have deep expertise in immunology, virology, or a closely related field, preferably with experience in translational or clinical research settings. Senior Research Associates will be expected to independently design and execute sophisticated research projects, mentor junior lab members, and contribute to the strategic development of new initiatives within the lab.
Successful candidates will find significant opportunities for leadership, career advancement, and collaborative engagement both within Weill Cornell Medicine and across the extensive REACH Collaborator network.
