Job description

The Post-Pandemic Leadership Research Institute (PLRI) is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant Interns to support a variety of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research projects. PLRI is dedicated to advancing research on leadership in the contexts of virtual and hybrid teams, artificial intelligence, finance, change management, women’s empowerment, and the development of leadership traits in children. The mission of PLRI is to lead sustainable innovation and foster strong relationships in virtual and AI-driven environments.

Position Overview

Interns will contribute to interdisciplinary studies across a wide range of leadership domains, including:

  • Motherhood Leadership
  • Virtual Team Leadership for Women
  • Leadership Traits in Children
  • Startup Leadership

This internship is especially suitable for individuals with academic backgrounds in Organizational Leadership, Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, or Data Science who are eager to apply their knowledge in a behavioral and organizational research setting.

Duration: 9 months to up to 2 years (starting June 2025), depending on individual performance and available funding.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct literature reviews on topics related to leadership, behavioral finance, and decision-making
  • Collect, clean, and validate data from surveys, interviews, internal assessments, and external sources
  • Assist in writing, editing, and synthesizing content for academic journal articles and case studies
  • Prepare tables, charts, and summaries for presentations and publications
  • Support data workflow development using tools such as Excel, Python, or R
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization
  • Collaborate with team members and external data contributors to ensure project coordination
  • Support fundraising efforts and assist with leadership event logistics as needed
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field

(e.g., Organizational Leadership, Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, or Data Science)

  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, R, or SQL is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of basic statistical techniques, regression analysis, or behavioral modeling
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently while meeting deadlines
  • Regular Zoom meetings and virtual team collaboration are essential, as this is currently a remote position.
  • High ethical standards—honesty, diligence, and accountability—are essential to ensure research accuracy, rigor, and objectivity.
