Job summary

The University of Miami's Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship, Division of Veterinary Resources (DVR), is seeking a full-time Animal Care Technician for the Medical Campus. The role involves daily animal care, feeding, enrichment, and assisting veterinary staff with procedures and sample collection.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; AALAS ALAT preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work evenings, nights or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for various animal species, including observation, feeding and housing.
• Assist veterinary and research staff with procedures and sample collection.
• Monitor environment, sanitize cages, and maintain animal records.
• Observe animals for signs of injury or illness and report findings promptly.
• Handle equipment sterilization and disinfect surfaces in animal rooms.
