We are seeking a methodical and insightful Research & Evaluation Consultant to support specialized research initiatives that assess the effectiveness and impact of innovative educational programs. This dynamic role combines rigorous research methodology with practical program evaluation to generate evidence-based insights that drive continuous improvement in education.

As a Research & Evaluation Consultant, you will design sophisticated data collection tools, implement mixed-methods research approaches, and perform advanced statistical analyses that reveal meaningful patterns and outcomes. Your ability to translate complex research findings into clear, actionable recommendations will directly influence how educational initiatives evolve and scale.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Looker Studio based on program and evaluation needs
• Build and maintain Airtable bases and interfaces to support real-time data tracking, and reporting
• Design Airtable automations that streamline survey tracking, stakeholder input, and other evaluation workflows
• Clean and reshape data in Google Sheets using advanced formulas and logical structuring (e.g., wide-to-long transformations)
• Calculate and visualize key metrics related to TEA’s HQIM goals
• Troubleshoot limitations across Looker Studio, Airtable, and Google Sheets(e.g., filter compatibility, aggregation issues)
• Automate and/or streamline manual data processes using formulas or Google Apps Script
• Collaborate with Safal team members on dashboard design and layout to ensure accessibility and usability for various audiences
• Maintain clear documentation of data workflows and formulas for internal handoff
• Document processes and maintain clear instructions for internal handoff and external data transfer
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience building dashboards in Looker Studio and Airtable
• Advanced Google Sheets skills, including array formulas, QUERY, FILTER, VLOOKUP, SPLIT, and conditional logic
• Experience reshaping wide-to-long data formats and working with survey datasets
• Experience designing Airtable interfaces, creating linked records, and building custom automations
• Strong data cleaning and transformation skills, especially with survey or program datasets
• Understanding of education data (e.g., survey data, implementation tracking, LEAs, campuses)
• Familiarity with data storytelling and impact reporting
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
• Excellent communication skills to document and explain processes clearly to internal teams
  
  
  

Nice to have:

• Experience with Google Apps Script or basic scripting for data automation
• Experience with Qualtrics, including survey logic and embedded data, workflow automation (e.g., triggers, alerts, dashboards), distribution list creation, and survey deployment at scale
• Familiarity with education datasets and evaluation frameworks
