Job summary

Collabera is seeking an R&D Technician II to support product development and testing in a medical device lab. This hands-on role involves mechanical, electrical, dimensional, and visual testing, while ensuring accurate documentation and clear communication with engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or technical certification, 1–4 years in a testing or lab setting, and proficiency with measurement tools and Microsoft Office.

  • Associate degree, technical certification, post-secondary education, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in a testing, laboratory, manufacturing, assembly, or technical environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Experience using measurement and testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, dimensional, and visual testing on medical devices and components.
  • Follow detailed written procedures, protocols, and verbal instructions.
  • Document test activities and results using established documentation practices.
  • Communicate testing observations, findings, and results to engineering teams.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and measurement tools including calipers, force gauges, multimeters, digital thermometers, and other test instruments.
  • Assist with product evaluations, data collection, and reporting activities.
  • Maintain an approximately 85% laboratory and 15% documentation-based workload.
  • Support ongoing research, development, and product verification activities.

Job description

The R&D Technician II will support product development and testing activities within a medical device research and development environment. This role is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical, electrical, dimensional, and visual tests while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with engineering teams. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a laboratory setting.
