Seeking a forward-thinking chemist who is excited to join an innovative team!

The R&D Application Chemist in the Chemistries and Supplies Division works in cross-functional teams to develop various new consumables used in atomic spectroscopy, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and other analytical techniques. This role applies scientific knowledge and experience to ensure that new products meet their requirements and are fit for their intended use.

  • Participate in developing performance requirements for new products.

  • Work with the Marketing Team to create a comprehensive, integrated plan to qualify new products and generate performance data for marketing collateral

  • Design and perform experiments and tests to validate that prototypes meet the stated performance requirements.

  • Conduct lab work in a safe working environment, following all EHS regulations, including use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Properly document experimental work to allow the efficient recovery of experimental data. Maintain appropriate electronic laboratory notebooks to record all experimental details and results.

  • Process data and write technical summaries of test results, statistical data analysis and interpretation. Prepare technical presentations, reports and summaries. Periodically present work to ensure progress and to achieve Design Control objectives.

  • Use problem-solving, statistical techniques, and organizational skills to work effectively in a cross-functional and distributed team. Have a positive, solutions-focused approach and ability to build productive relationships.

  • Facilitate transition of product design to production and delivery. This may include drafting QC Tests for Manufacturing.

  • Use effective written communication skills to prepare Technical Briefs, Application Notes, training materials, and other technical marketing collateral; and strong ability to deliver effective and engaging technical presentations such as webinars.

  • Maintain broad knowledge of innovative principles and techniques. Make contributions to scientific literature and conferences such as publication of papers.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • At least 5+ years of related experience in Atomic Spectroscopy, Liquid Chromatography and LC/MS, and/or Gas Chromatography and GC/MS is a must.

  • Biopharma experience is a strong plus.

  • Experience in sample preparation techniques is a plus.

  • Familiarity with statistical tools (e.g. Minitab or similar) is a plus.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft software, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc. is required.

Additional Details

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least May 19, 2025 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $121,600.00 - $190,000.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
