Sul Ross State University is seeking a Research Analyst (Remote) to join the Institutional Research department in Alpine, TX. The role focuses on collecting, validating, and analyzing institutional data to support compliance, planning, and student success initiatives.
The analyst will use SPSS, R, and Python for statistical modeling and build dashboards with Power BI, Tableau, and Argos, while ensuring data governance and timely reporting to THECB, IPEDS, and other agencies.

Primary Responsibilities
The Research Analyst will support institutional research and data analytics functions critical to compliance, strategic planning, and student success initiatives. This role involves the application of statistical and computational methods to collect, analyze, and interpret institutional data, and to develop data-driven insights for decision-making.
Duties:
Work Schedule: 40hr/wk, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.
May telecommute from any location in the United States. Reports to Sul Ross State University in Alpine, TX.
Security Sensitive:
This position is classified as Security-Sensitive and is thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094, which authorize employers to obtain and review criminal history record information for applicants.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
