Job summary

Marquette Associates is seeking a Research Analyst to lead and conduct due diligence on private market managers, write reports, and present findings. You will underwrite private equity funds, analyze managers, attend Investment Committee meetings, and engage with clients.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years in investments, progress toward CFA/CAIA, strong MS Office skills, and exceptional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 5–10 years investment experience.
• Completion of CFA or CAIA or progress towards it is preferred.
• Knowledge of private equity industry and managers.
• Strong client service and professional communication.
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong MS Office skills; quick to learn new software.

Responsibilities

The Research Analyst will possess a strong understanding of the private market landscape and manager due diligence. The Research Analyst will lead and conduct due diligence meetings and express investment recommendations with conviction and support.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite private equity funds for Marquette clients, conducting extensive due diligence on direct funds for buyout, mezzanine, venture capital, and other related sectors within the private equity universe
• Write reports on investment managers for internal and client use
• Present research/manager due diligence at internal and external meetings
• Attend weekly Investment Committee meetings
• Represent Marquette at investment conferences and annual meetings
• Develop quantitative and qualitative analysis to support original Marquette research
• Analyze overall market factors influencing the asset classes
• Serve as a resource for consultants

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years investment related experience
• Completion of or progress towards CFA or CAIA
• Knowledge of the private equity industry and managers
• Strong client service experience and ability to present information effectively and professionally
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized with ability to work independently to meet deadlines
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positively
• Strong Microsoft Office application skills with the ability to quickly learn new software applications
• Critical thinking skills: a self-starter with excellent follow-up abilities

$90,000 - $130,000 a year

The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan, which includes a target bonus of 15% of base salary.
