Job summary

Marquette Associates is seeking an Investment Associate to support the client and research teams in Chicago. You will collect data, perform performance reporting, and assist in manager searches and data analyses for client deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Assist Client Team with monthly and quarterly investment performance reporting and client support.
• Reconcile performance and collect market values/cash flows from managers and custodians.
• Analyze market trends across asset classes (equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds, private equity).
• Support Research Team by collecting data from eVestment, Bloomberg, Morningstar and FactSet.
• Prepare client-ready deliverables, charts, and education materials; take meeting minutes for investment committee meetings.

Job description

The Investment Associate is responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues on the consulting and manager research teams to collect and synthesize data, support analytical work and gather information required for client deliverables.

Responsibilities:

In support of the client team, the Investment Associate will complete quarterly and monthly investment performance reporting, provide day-to-day client support, and special projects assigned by the client team. In support of the research team, the Investment Associate will work with asset class leads to build investment manager searches, collect and analyze data, and attend investment manager meetings.

Client Team

• Obtain monthly and quarterly client statements from investment managers and custodians
• Enter market values and cash flows from the investment manager and custodian statements in the investment software platform for each account in which the client is invested, while problem solving any discrepancies in performance calculations and reconciling performance returns across sources
• Understand and analyze market trends in performance of all asset classes in clients’ portfolios such as equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds and private equity
• Provide day-to-day client support: respond to client, manager, and custodian inquiries, explain performance results to the client team when requested, and resolve issues in a timely manner
• Participate in team and firm projects upon request, which may include creating charts/graphs for client deliverables and data analysis

Research Team

• Collaborate with lead asset class analyst on client directed manager searches
• Assist research team in generating reports and collecting data from eVestment, Bloomberg, Morningstar, and FactSet
• Organize weekly agendas for investment committee meetings, take and distribute meeting minutes
• Support asset class leaders with investment manager research by collecting/analyzing data, attending investment manager meetings, and helping create client-ready deliverables, education materials, and manager reports/analysis

Competencies for Success/Qualifications:

• Open to December 2026 and Spring 2027 graduates
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field
• Commitment to client service excellence

• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines; use critical thinking skills to solve problems autonomously

Compensation:

The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan, which includes a target bonus of $5,000.
