Job summary

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in custom market research or a related environment.
  • Exposure to a range of research methodologies including product, brand, advertising, and customer satisfaction research.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Q, SPSS, SAS; familiarity with R, Python or data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience programming surveys in Decipher, Qualtrics, or ConfirmIT.
  • Understanding of survey methodology fundamentals, weighting, sampling, and data validation.
  • Comfort working with multiple data types and experience in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute custom research projects, including timeline tracking, fieldwork coordination, and vendor management under a Research Manager.
  • Develop research instruments such as survey questionnaires and moderator guides per methodological standards.
  • Program surveys in Decipher, Qualtrics, or ConfirmIT and manage fieldwork quality checks.
  • Clean, process, and analyze survey data using statistical tools with weighting and validation.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards translating findings into client-ready insights.
  • Support integration of multiple data sources (survey, behavioral, secondary data) as directed.
  • Document business objectives and project requirements in client communications.
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and operations across project workstreams.
  • Explore AI-powered tools for survey automation and data synthesis.

Overview

As a Research Analyst on the Custom Research team at HarrisX, you will support end-to-end research engagements across corporate, media, and public opinion research projects. Working under the direction of a Research Manager, you will contribute to research design, build and program surveys, analyze data, and help develop client-ready deliverables. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role suited for someone early in their research career who is eager to develop technical depth across quantitative and qualitative methods. You will work as part of a collaborative project team alongside Research Managers, Directors, VPs, data scientists, and research operations team, contributing to studies that inform both corporate strategy and public narratives. Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and execution of custom research projects, including timeline tracking, fieldwork coordination, and vendor management under the direction of a Research Manager.
  • Assist in the development of research instruments, including survey questionnaires and moderator guides, in line with established methodological standards.
  • Program surveys using platforms such as Decipher, Qualtrics, or ConfirmIT, and manage quality checks throughout the fieldwork process.
  • Clean, process, and analyze survey data using Q, SPSS, or equivalent statistical tools, applying appropriate weighting and validation techniques.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and dashboards that translate findings into clear, actionable insights for client delivery.
  • Support the integration of multiple data sources, including survey, behavioral, and secondary data, as directed by senior team members.
  • Participate in client communications, documenting business objectives and project requirements under the guidance of a Research Manager or Director.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with analysts, data scientists, and research operations colleagues across project workstreams.
  • Apply and develop familiarity with AI‑powered tools used for survey automation, data synthesis, and content analysis as part of the team's evolving workflow.
Qualifications
  • You have 1–2 years of experience in custom market research, data analysis, or a related research environment.
  • You have academic and practical exposure to a range of research methodologies, including new product, brand, advertising, and customer satisfaction research.
  • You are proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and have working knowledge of Q, SPSS, SAS, or equivalent statistical software. Experience with R, Python, or data visualization tools is a plus.
  • You have hands‑on experience programming surveys in platforms such as Decipher, Qualtrics, or ConfirmIT.
  • You understand survey methodology fundamentals, including best practices for questionnaire design, statistical weighting, and data validation.
  • You are comfortable working with multiple data types and have a foundation in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.
  • You communicate clearly in both written and verbal form, and can present findings in a structured, accessible way.
  • You are detail‑oriented, able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines, and comfortable operating with some ambiguity.
  • You are curious about AI‑powered tools and open to applying them within research workflows, including survey automation and data synthesis.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, statistics, mathematics, political science, communications, or a related field. A Master's or advanced degree is a plus.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
