Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Research Analyst (IUPA) to provide research support and technical services to Commander, Mine Countermeasures Group Three (CpOMCMGRU THREE) located in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include producing twelve Interagency Underwater Port Assessments per year.

Qualifications include a BS/BA with 2+ years in mine countermeasures planning or operations, working knowledge of Maritime Operations and DoD regulations, and strong MS Office skills. A Secret security clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

• BS/BA preferred PLUS at least two (2+) years of recent experience with mine countermeasures planning or operations.
• Working knowledge of Maritime Operations.
• Working knowledge of Maritime Homeland Defense response plans.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Recent experience managing projects or processes.
• Recent experience with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, requirements, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects or processes in U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard contexts.
• Brief senior managers on pertinent findings and recommendations.

Overview

RESEARCH ANALYST (IUPA):

Bowhead is seeking a Reasearch Analyst to provide Reasearch support and Technical Support Services to Commander, Mine Countermeasures Group Three (CpOMCMGRU THREE) located in San Diego, CA. Tasks include the production of twelve Interagency Underwater Port Assessments (IUPA) per year.

Responsibilities

• Experience managing projects or processes in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard.
• Recent experience at conducting briefings for senior managers.
• Experience with U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port roles and responsibilities.
• Experience with mine countermeasures planning tools including MineNet Tactical.
• Law enforcement or security experience in a U.S. port.
• Experience in Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Naval Surface Warfare, or the Naval Helicopter Community.
• Familiarity with the National Incident Management System.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Target salary range is between $110,000 - $125,000 commensurate with experience.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
