POSITION DUTIES
The purpose of the Research Analyst will be to collect, analyze, evaluate and disseminate criminal history information relating to arrest and disposition records in Maryland. The Research Analyst will coordinate the sharing of criminal history statistical information amongst the CJIS-Central Repository (CR) and ITCD operating managers for the purpose of identifying better reporting and management processes; and to identify trends in database errors or data reporting issues. The individual will provide statistical analysis support to the Director, Assistant Directors, and operational administrators within CJIS-CR.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by three or more credit hours in statistics beyond the elementary statistics course.
Experience: One year of experience in statistical or research work which must have included the application of statistical techniques.
Notes
- Candidates may substitute additional one year of experience in statistical research work, including the application of elementary statistical techniques for the required credit hours in advanced statistics.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Statistician classifications or Statistician and Intelligence Officer specialty codes in the Statistics field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
Applicant must have experience using state and FBI Criminal history records check (CHRC or background check).
Applicant must possess 1-2 years experience analyzing data.
